Pilot° Communications is seeking a seasoned Account Director to strengthen our client services discipline, mentor our account team, and help shape the future of our growing agency.
The successful candidate brings 5–10+ years of marketing/communications agency experience, deep strategic thinking, exceptional client leadership, and a passion for helping teams do their best work. This is a pivotal role that will set the standard for best practice account management at Pilot°.
About the Role
Client Strategy & Leadership
- Lead strategy development across brand, marketing, advertising, digital, and communications.
- Provide senior-level counsel and build trusted long-term client relationships.
- Translate complex challenges into clear briefs, plans, and actionable strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities and proactively support client success.
Team Mentorship & Development
- Coach and mentor Account Managers and Coordinators to strengthen their skills and performance.
- Model best practices for communication, planning, relationship-building, and strategic thinking.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional excellence, and client service.
Project Oversight & Agency Operations
- Oversee timelines, scopes, budgets, and workflows across assigned accounts.
- Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of clarity, strategy, and creative execution.
- Manage resourcing and planning collaboratively with the Project & Workflow Manager.
- Lead internal meetings and approvals with clarity and discipline.
Creative & Digital Collaboration
- Lead briefing sessions for creative, writing, digital, video, and strategic projects.
- Review deliverables to ensure strategic alignment and accuracy.
- Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback that elevates the work.
Reporting & Insights
- Present analytics, insights, and performance reviews to clients.
- Recommend improvements and future opportunities based on results and data.
What You Bring
- 5–10+ years of agency experience (marketing, communications, integrated campaigns).
- Strong strategic planning and brand-building capabilities.
- Demonstrated success leading complex accounts and multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
- Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with project management workflows and digital platforms.
